Mayor, electrical engineer and former AFL player, Stephen Patterson has the local knowledge, experience and commitment to deliver for the people of Morphett.
As Mayor of Holdfast Bay Council and volunteer in many local community organisations, Stephen has local knowledge and passion to drive our area forward.
Stephen’s experience as an electrical engineer, running his software engineering company, allows him to understand and stand up for many of the issues facing local businesses.
The commitment, resilience and work ethic required to succeed in elite team sport, as Stephen has demonstrated by playing AFL and representing South Australia, shows he has what it takes to be a hard working, effective representative.
Stephen loves living locally with his wife and four children. The whole family are active in the community as volunteers and appreciate the importance community organisations play in our area.
He has great relationships with many locals through his involvement in local sporting clubs and community groups.

The seat of Morphett was named after Sir John Morphett (1809-1892), who lived in the Morphettville area and was Speaker of the enlarged Legislative Council in 1851 and President of the elected Legislative Council 1865-1873.
To the West of Adelaide, Morphett comprises the suburbs of Camden Park, Glengowrie, Glenelg, Glenelg East, Glenelg South, Morphettville, Novar Gardens, Park Holme, the western portion of Plympton, Plympton Park, and the northern portion of Somerton Park.
